(NZ. Press Association) ROTORUA, October 22. The Te Awamutu brown belt, J. Oosterm, yesterday won the North Island open grade judo championships at Rotorua. Oosterman is the New Zealand open champion, and yesterday he fought through three 10-minute contests to the final. Also contested yesterday were the North Island first dan and open dan championships, which were won by P. Toner (Wellington YMC A.) and G. Gesthuizen (Hawera).
