F. W. Roberts Wins (NZ. Press Association) MASTERTON. October 22. F. W. Roberts won the senior championship at the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association golf tournament played at Mahunga and Lansdowne courses. Masterton. on Saturday and Sunday. His gross score was 153. The runners-up were G. R. Falloon (Masterton) and A. D. Smith (Wellington), equal, one stroke behind. The weather on both days was perfect with a cloudless sky and little wind. There were 180 entries in from throughout New Zealand and the visiting former servicemen were well catered for by the Wairarapa US A., the host for this second annual tournament. Roberts had an indifferent first round for a gross 81. Things went well at Mahunga today, however. He was chipping and putting well and went around in 74 for an aggregate of 133 The Masterton pair. I. Arundel and G. Falloon played very consistently to take the senior foursomes with a gross of 133 Championship.—Best gross: F. W. Roberts; net aggregate. H. McL Wilson: best gross senior. F. W. BULLER TITLES AT WESTPORT
Nelson Players In Women’s Final (NZ. Press Association) WESTPORT, October IS. The senior women's Buller golf championship title will be an all-Nelson affair between the New Zealand women's titleholder. Miss N. Campbell, and Mrs R. Mace.
