MANNEQUIN PARADE

Aranui*Wainoni Kindergarten

A mannequin parade was held in the Aranui High School assembly hall last evening, in aid of the AranuiWainoni Free Kindergarten Association’s building fund. The fund has reached £5OO, and a target of £2OOO has been set. It began 18 months ago. Guests were welcomed by the association’s vice-presi-dent (Mrs B. Thompson), who presented sprays to the president of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association (Mrs A. F. Johnson) and the patroness of the Aranui-Wai-noni Association (Mrs J. Mathison). Flowers were also presented to the compere (Miss Carole Macdonald) and the secretary of the Aranui-Wai-noni Association (Mrs B. Ruddle), who had arranged the function. The parade was a preview of 1962 summer fashions. Sixteen professional models showed coats, suits, dresses, hats, and sportswear. Delightful little summer cottons were paraded by four junior models.
