NO CHANGE IN SUIT STYLES

Colours Also Will Be Stable Fashion-conscious men need not worry about suit styles changing next year Single-breasted suits are still in, in spite of the preference for double-breastd suits by the Prime Minister of Britain (Mr Macmillan), the Duke of Edinburgh and the Earl of Snowdon, according to Mr E. Barlow, managing director of an Australian and New Zealand men’s wear firm. Mr Barlow said that colours would not change much next year either. The sombre blues, blacks, brown greens and olive, which had proved popular last year, were still popular. One modification in suits Would be the narrower trouser cuff. For young men it would be about 16in, tor older men about 18in. But if suits are to remain conservative, sports shirts are not. According to Mr Barlow these are going to be brighter and more patterned than ever before. Mr Barlow said that greater interest was now being taken in the buying habits of the younger people. In Sydney a firm had just opened a £750,000 shop to sell young men’s clothing. ' The same trend would be apparent in New Zealand soon.
