TECHNICAL COLLEGE

Big Audience At Concert The annual concert of the Christchurch Technical College was held last evening in the college hall before a large audience. The programme began with the orchestra, conducted by Mr F. C. J. Port, playing the march from “Tannhauser,” by Wagner. The orchestra then played Carse’s "In Rural England.” After the interval, the college brass band took the stage and, under the leadership of Mr D. I. Williams, played a selection of marches and the hymn “Crimond,” with vigour and enthusiasm. The most popular part of the programme was the choral section. The choir sang a well-balanced selection of folk sonks and traditional airs.

Every word was clear and the resonance of the English folk song, “The Waits,” was well produced. The choir was conducted by Mr Port.
