College Launches Appeal (N.Z.PA.-Reuter—Copvright) MELBOURNE, October 3. The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons has launched a public appeal for £A300,000 throughout Australia and New Zealand. The appeal, which will provide for extension of the college’s Melbourne premises and its tutoring facilities, is the first public appeal for funds the college has ever conducted.
The college is the only body primarily concerned with the standard of surgery in all States of Australia and New Zealand, and with the training of surgeons. Lord Casey hag accepted the position as president of the appeal. Lord Casey said the money from the appeal would be used to extend teaching facilities and to build a new teaching block •nd pay salaries for extra tutors at the Melbourne College.
