CITY BUILDING PERMITS
Fewer In First - Six Months Fewer building permits have been issued by the Christchurch City Council in the first six months of the 1961-62 financial year than in the corresponding period of the previous year—223s compared with 2427—but the value of the permits has risen from £ 3.401 m to £ 3.415 m. The Linwood ward has shown toe greatest activity of toe nine wards of the city. There, the 580 permits issued so far this year have a value Of £798,329.
Last month, there were 101 permits with a total value of £210,052 issued in Linwood. The total value of the 342 permits issued last month was £478,313, compared with £538,781 for the 423 permits given in September of 1960.
