ANTARCTIC FLIGHTS

Take-Off May Be Tomorrow

Continued bad weather south of New Zealand and at McMurdo Sound has again caused the United States Antarctic commander (Rear-Ad-miral D. M. Tyree) to postpone the flights south of the four Hercules. They will now take oft from Ha re wood tomorrow night if flight conditions are favourable. To assist in determining this the officer commanding VX6 Squadron (Commander M. D. Greenwell) sent a Hercules on a weather reconnaissance flight yesterday afternoon along the flight route to a point about 800 miles south of the Dominion.
