CONVERSION OF VEHICLES
AA. Supports New Legislation
The Automobile Association (Canterbury) hopes that the sections of the Crimes Bill bringing the penalties for car conversion into line witn those, for theft will be passed by Parliament. Its council agreed last evening that this would satisfy long-standina wishes of members. ’
Tearooms Popular.— ln the first full month of operation the tearooms in the new building have taken £799 more than double any previous figure. No Cards.— The association will not send Christmas cards in future. Additional Patrol.— An ad ditional service officer with an extra patrol vehicle will be put on the roads soon. Membership.— With 408 new members elected this month, the total roll is now 47.164.
Service Report.— ln August, patrol officers assisted 97 motorists, inspected 39 vehicles, shipped 42 cars, and erected 199 signs.
