LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
Formation Of New Branch
The inaugural meeting of a new branch of the League of Mothers in the Aranui-Wai-noni area was held last evening at the home of Mrs K. Budge, 3 Rowan avenue.
Mr W. H. Harvey, provincial president, welcomed the mayoress (Mrs G. Manning), the Dominion president, Mrs W. Grant, the Dominion secretary, Mrs H. C. L Pruden and the presidents erf sister branches in the city. The history of the league was explained by Mrs W. Grant. Other speakers were Mrs D. G. McFadden, immediate past provincial president; Mrs R. W. Shipley, provincial secretary: Mrs A. Helm, provincial treasurer; Mrs R. R. Sangster, provincial magazine secretary and Mrs J. F. Heyward, supply secretary. The organising work of this branch was carried out by members of the Hoon Hay and Woolston branches. The following officers were elected:—Attnsg president, Mrs K. Budge; secretary, Mrs W. Van Vliet; treasurer, Mrs G. Boyd; committee. Mesdames C. Gibson, W. Edwards, R. Cattermole, R. Peach and H. Crowther.
