First Report Next Week ’ (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. , The Monetary and Economic Council expected to have its first report to the Government ready for handing over by next week, the chairmah (Professor F. W. Holmes) said today. The council was now in the final stages of drafting the report, he added. Under the terms of the act under which it was recently set up, the council is required to present its reports to the Minister of Finance As Mr Lake is at present overseas ’and is not expected to return to this country until about mid-October, the report is likely to be presented to the Acting-Minister (Mr Eyre). Under the act authority is given the, council to publish its reports at its discretion.
