Cheap Money For Roads
(N.Z. Press Association t WELLINGTON, Sept. 20. A suggestion that loans be made available to local authorities for urgent reading requirements “from the £2 million being held in the National Roads Board account at the request of the Prime Minister” was made by Mr S. A. Whitehead (Opposition, Nelson) in the House of Representatives today. If the Minister of Works (Mr Goosman) agreed to make such loans. Mr Whitehead added, would he make them available at the same rate of interest, 1 per cent., now being paid to the roads board?
