HANGARS SOLD
£69,340 Paid
By NA.C. The Government had approved the sale of Nos. 2 and 4 hangars and eight associated buildings at the Christchurch airport to the National Airways Corporation for £69.340, the Director of Civil Aviation (Sir Arthur Nevill) advised the City Council last evening. Payment could be spread over three years from April 1. 1961, he said. Proceeds of the sale could be retained within the pool account and administered by the council, but the Government had stipulated that the money was to be funded to a special capital development reserve and used only for mutually-agreed and approved future capital works.
