PILOT DIES IN CRASH
Fatality Near Rotorua (N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, Sept. 20. A topdressing pilot was killed when his light aircraft crashed on a Lands and Survey Department block at Atiamuri, near Rotorua, this afternoon. He was Francis Irvine, a Canadian, engaged by James Aviation, Ltd.
The crash occurred in rugged country after the pilot had dropped the plane’s load of fertiliser. A bulldozer blazed a trail for a Rotorua police party who recovered the body.
