Truck Crashes Into House

After a truck and a van collided in Strickland street at 7.58 a.m. yesterday, the truck got out of control, crashed through a fence, and stopped with its motor through the veranda doorway of the home of Mr and Mrs P. Fox. at 21 Strickland street.

The driver of the truck. Jan Vryenhoek. escaped with a shaking James McKay, a carpenter. of 17 Strickland street who was driving the van, suffered internal injuries. He was taken by ambulance to the Princess Margaret Hospital. The back of the van was badly damaged and the engine was torn from its mountings. The truck had its chassis twisted and brakes and front springs damaged.
