HEALTH STAMPS SHORT

Sales At Women’s Booth

Health stamps were becoming scarce, the Christchurch Deputy-Chief Postmaster (Mr J W. Lincoln) said yesterday. The Chief Post Office had had to call in supplies from country offices in the district, and it would probably be necessary soon to try to get more from Wellington, he said. ’’Possibly, however, there will be few available from head office, if other districts are also having a run on the stamps,” he added. "Only a certain number are printed of each year’s issue.” A factor in the heavy sales at the Chief Post Office was the booth manned daily by voluntary women’s organisations. This month, the women had already sold more than £B4 worth of stamps at the booth.
