MELANESIAN DAY OF PRAYER
Cathedral Services Today The annual day of prayer for the Anglican Diocese of Melanesia will be celebrated today at the Christchurch Cathedral by special services throughout the day. These will include celebration of Holy Communion at 7.30 a.m. by the Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. Martin Sullivan) and another service at 10 a.m. This latter will be conducted by the Rev. W. G. Arnold, of Kaiapoi.
Throughout the day intercession services will also be held.
Today’s services will mark the ninetieth anniversary of the death of a former Bishop of Melanesia (Bishop Patterson) who was murdered in the Solomon Islands in 1871
