Letter To Mr H.C. Blazey A letter from Mr Marcel Laurent, manager of' the French Rugby team which toured New Zealand recently, to the president of the Canterbury Rugby Union (Mr H C. Blazeyl was read at a meeting of the union's management committee last evening The letter said: “Back in France once more, going over bv notes and living over again my memories gathered in the course of our unforgettable New Zealand tour. I feel irresistibly impelled to write to you. For it would be in mv eyes showing the most deplorable obduracy to consign to oblivion those who. , far from our mother country, provided for our players and who also, by their thoughtful care, by their anticipation of our needs, by all sorts of signs showered upon us the most moving proof of their sincerest friendship and the flnpst sporting brotherliness. "At the moment, perhaps, we did not succeed in showing how highly we valued those things and how very grateful for them we are to you
“So I have desired by this letter to express to you our feeling of deep gratitude for those cordial tokens which with their clear stamp marked the stages of our tour.”
