Sept 19 Net profit of the Reserve Bank of Australia rose 24 per cent, or £3,900,000. from £16.219,080 to £20.069,308 in the year to June 30 last Profit was made up of £12,930.386 from the note issue department (previous £10,510,002), £6.704,788 from central banking business (£5380,970) and £434.134 from the rural credits department (£32,108). Out of the net profits was paid to the Commonwealth of Australia. £3,569,461 to the reserve funds of the bank, and £217.067 to the rural credits development fund.
