PRIVILEGES OF OTWAY

Club Seeks Return (NX. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Sept. 19. An attempt will be made to secure a remission of the suspension of privileges imposed by the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association on the Davis Cup player, M. A. Otway. An attempt will be made by the Parnell Club, of which Otway was an active member during all of his career in New Zealand. Overseas tennis privileges for him were cancelled by the New Zealand association after he had protested in England some weeks ago about the “off-handed wayin which he was called upon for service for New Zealand. When told that the New Zealand association had acted against him for Im. Pfrtmence. Otwav responded: tl* (he laugh of the week.” The Parnell club believes that no good purpose ha* been served bv imposing the sjwpension. Otway, in the clubs opinion, was entitled to freedom of speech Also, he was a member of a London club and thus was no longer under the jurisdiction of the New Zealand association.
