LM.F. Attitude Sought (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 19. Mr N. E. Kirk (Opposition. Lyttelton), in a question addressed to the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) in the House of Representatives today, asked whether the current exchange rate had been accepted by the International Monetary Fund as the initial par value of New Zealand currency, in accordance with the International Finance Agreements Act. He asked for an assurance that, in the event of the I.M.F not agreeing to accept this, New Zealand would withdraw immediately from membership “in an organisation that is not universally approved by our people.”
