Darts SOUTH IN FORM Win Over N.I.

(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. Sept. IT. The South Island team scored a meritorious victory over North Island, when an interisland darts fixture was held at New Plymouth on Saturday. South Island was in fine form and although North Island Dressed hard, it was no match for the continued accuracy of its opponents The singles champion. T. Hansen (South Otago), was in good form, and the runner-up in the singles title on Friday night, T. Heather (Eastern-Bav ofPlenty) also scored consistently well. Results were (North Island names first):— Doubles.—T, Benvin and D. Trow (Wanganui) lost to H. Leckie (Southland) and T. Hansen (South Otago). 1-2; L. Irving and V. WaWi (Taranaki) lost to R. Varty (Otago) and 3. Smlthurst (Southland). 1-2; T. Heather (E.-8.P.) and D. Terrey (Wanganui) beat G. Watt (Moagiel) and F. O’Neill (Mosgiel) 2-1; B. Christensen (Taranaki) and J. Adams (Manawatu) beat T. McDowell (Otago) and 3. Wilkins (Canterbury). 2-0. . Fours. T. Benvin. D. Trow. L. Irving, and V. Walsh lost to H. Leckie. T. Hansen. R. Varty. and J. Smithurst. 0-2; T. Heather, D. Terrey. B. Christensen, and J. Adams lost to G. Watt. - T ' McDowell, and J. Wilkins. 0-2.
