(Electrical) and B Sc. degrees will be offered in 1962 by the Post Office. They provide a suitable avenue for students aspiring to professional careers in radio, telephone, telegraph and electrical engineering. The bursaries are open to pupils leaving post-primary schools and also to undergraduates who have completed parts of all of the Intermediate, the First, or the Second Professional examinations of the Bachelor of Engineering degree or parts of the Bachelor of Science degree. Higher School Certificate Is the preferred minimum standard for applicants, although those with University Entrance will be considered. Bursaries are for full-time study to complete the B.Sc. or the B.E. (Electrical) degrees. Post-graduate study is considered in special cases. Bursars will receive:—

Subsistence allowance —£115 if living at home. £175 if living away from home. Tuition and examination fees. Book grant. Instruments. Certain travelling expenses Short vacation leave. Long vacation work at normal salary rates. Where appropriate part-time study facilities will be considered—particularly for B.Sc. students. Further information is available from the Englneer-in-Chiefs Office, G.P.0., Wellington, or from any Post Office District Engineer. Detailed results of tho National Scholarship, the Engineering Intermediate or other examinations or awards should accompany the application or be sent later as soon as available. Applications close In GRO,, Wellington, September 30. Selections will be by personal interviews during November. Decisions are announced in December.
