PINAFORE by GILBERT and SULLIVAN . at the REPERTORY THEATRE Kilmore Street 7.45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21 Friday, Sept. 22 Saturday, Sept. 23 (ONLY A FEW SEATS LEFT) Adults 8/6 Children 3/6 Bookings by 'phone or post C/o Christchurch West High School, Hagley Avenue. fudlic notices PUBLIC NOTICE THE SPRINGS-ELLESMERE ELECTRIC POWER BOARD Redemption Loan No. 12 1961 (To be raised by Special Order) PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of The Springs - Ellesmere Electric Power Board held on the 12th day of September 1961, the following resolution was passed by way of Special Order, AND THAT such resolution will be confirmed ait a meeting of the said Board to be held at the offices of the Board at Leeston on Tuesday the 10th day of October 1961 at 9.30 o'clock in the forenoon: IN PURSUANCE and exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 34 of "The Local Authorities Loans Act, 1956” and by Section 45 of "The Electric Power Boards Act 1925" and with the sanction of the Local Authorities Loans Board and the consent given by an Order-in-Council made on the 23rd day of August 1961, THE SPRINGS - ELLESMERE ELECTRIC POWER BOARD (hereinafter called “the Board”) HEREBY RESOLVES BY WAY OF SPECIAL ORDER as follows: (a) For the purpose of redeeming at maturity that portion of the issue of £30,000 of the No. 12 Reticulation Loan 1956. of £lOO,OOO, which matures, on the Ist day of November 1961, the Board hereby resolves to borrow in New Zealand, the sum of £17,800 such loan to be known as “RedempUon Loan No. 12, 1961.”

(b) The term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be five years or 10 years provided that the amount available for five years shall be unlimited where the loan is offered to existing holders, but where it is offered to the public the amount available tor five years shall be limited to 30 per cent, of the loan. (c) The rate of Interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding five per cent per annum for principal repayable in five years and five and one-eighth per cent, per annum for principal repayable in 10 years. (d) The Board shall, before raising the said loan, or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund and shall make annual payments to such sinking fund at a rate of not less than Five pounds one shipping and ninepence per cent, per annum of the amount of the loan for the time being borrowed and not repaid. (e) The payment of interest and repayment of principal in respect of the said loan shall be made in New Zealand, and no amount payable as either interest or sinking fund in respect of the said loan shall be paid out of loan money. (f) The rate payable for brokerage In respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not exceed one-half per cent. of any amount raised. (g) Payment of Interest and sinking fund Instalments in respect of the said loan and the repayment thereof shall be secured by a special rate annually recurring of threefortieths of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Springs-Ellesmere Electric Power District (h) Debentures or inscribed stock shall be issued in respect of the said loan as individual lenders may elect DATED at Hornby this ,13th day of September 1961.
