PROTEST AT TESTS
Meeting Next Week With the specific purpose of “expressing a general conern about the future testing of nuclear weapons by any of the world’s powers.” a public meeting sponsored by the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand National Council of Churches will be held in the Durham Street Art Gallery next Thursday evening. The proposed programme will consist of addresses by three speakers, the Rev. G. Falloon, convener of the Christchurch Presbytery's public questions committee. Mr Gordon Troup, president of the Christchurch branch of the United Nations Association of New Zealand, and Mr D. Kane, viceipresident of the Christchurch Campaign for Nuclear Dis. armament. At the end of the evening it is hoped to pass a general resolution on the meeting’s attitude to the whole issue.
