Badminton HANDICAP TOURNEY PROGRESSES

Further progress was made last evening in the Canterbury Badminton Association’s annual handicap tournaments. Large fields in all grades are gradually being reduced to manageable proportions. Earlier in the week officials of the association were kept very late in trying to finish each evening's programme. On Tuesday evening when there was an unusual number of long and very close matches, play did not end until after 1.45 a.m.

The four courts at the Skellerup Hall have been full each evening from 7 pm., and it had been hoped to reach the finals of all events before this evening. However, there will still be a number of quarter-finals and semi-finals to play before the finals can be held. Results were:— A Grade Mixed Doubles.—Ttiird round: R. Hall and D Creaaey beat T.
