AIRPORTS CLOSED
Disruptions In North (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON Sept. 3. Fog, low cloud, and rain caused serious disruptions to a number of National Airways Corporation air services in New Zealand yesterday. Three New Zealand airports closed and services operating out of other airports were disrupted to some extent.
Whenuapai Airport closed to all operations from 3 a.m. to 10.50 a.m. when the airport opened again for all take-offs.
Wellington Airport closed to all operations from 5.40 a.m. till 7.30 a.m. because of low cloud and rain about the airport
Consequently, the first Tasman Empire Airways. Ltd., service that arrived early this morning wa« diverted to Christchurch Airport.
This . flight was again diverted to Wellington Airport later in the morning. Hamilton Airport was closed to all operations from 6 a m till 9 a.m. because of heavy fog in and around the airport
