CITY ACTOR WITH OLD VIC
Mr E. Hooper For Tour Of Italy Mr E. Hooper, of Christchurch, who was awarded a Government bursary in 1958 to study drama >nd singing in Britain, will shortly go on tour with the Old Vic Company to Italy and the United States. At present the company is playing in Bristol. It will play at Cardiff before going to Venice and Turin. Early next year the company will open in Washington D.C. Mr Hooper spent his first two yeans in Britain studying at the Julian Slade School of Drama, and then accepted a contract with the Old Vic Company. He has specialised in singing parts in Shakespearean plays, and has appeared in “Measure for Measure," “The Merchant of Venice.” and “Romeo and Juliet.” During the United States tour he will play a 12-year-od boy in “Macbeth."
