DENTAL HEALTH Regional Officers Wanted

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 31. World dental health standards could be raised considerably if dental officers were attached to each of the six regional offices of the World Health Organisation, said the dean of the dental faculty at Otago University (Sir John Walsh) today. He was speaking on behalf of the International Dental Federation at the opening of the twelfth conference of the Western Pacific regional committee to W.H.O. in Wellington. “The federation is deeply concerned with the need to raise dental health standards throughout the world,” said Sir John Walsh.

One of its great hopes had been realised in 1955 when a dental health officer had been appointed to W.H.O. headquarters in Geneva, he said. “But the federation belives each W.H.O. regional office should have dental health officers also attached to them.”
