Board R ejects Extension Although the Christchurch Fire Board gave lirMted protection to Tai Tapir, it could not bring all propel ty in the area of and between Lincoln and Tai Tapu into the protected area, the board decided on Tuesday < evening. “Until we build a station near Hoon Hay we cannot give protection.” sai d the chairman (Mr W. R. (Campbell). ‘‘Once we bu Bd a station at Hqon Hay we ’ will have to give a coverage of five miles from the station.” At present, the b< ®rd would be incurring a grove risk if it undertook to give the protection, Mr Campbell said.
