PROCEDURE AT INQUIRY
Court Reserves Decision (NJS. Press Association) WELLINGTON. August 9. Decision was reserved by the Court of Appeal today at the* conclusion of argument jn the case stated by the Royal Commission on State Services for determination. 'Rie case involves legal paints in connexion with procedural matters. The President of the Court (Sir Kenneth Greeson > said the Court might deliver its judgment tomorrow morning.
Mr P. J. Treadwell, counsel for the Post Office Association. said he was prepared to adopt in toto submissions made to the Court by Dr. B. D. Inglis for the Combined State Services Organisation and by Mr N. R. Taylor for the Public Service Association. TTte Solicitor-General (Mr H. R. C. Wild, Q.C.) opening the case presented on behalf of the commission said: "The broad submission we make is that the function of this Royal Commission as its warrant provides is to inquire and to- report, not to hear and determine, in the lawyers’ phrase, nor to adjudicate.”
