S. G. Tonks New Handicapper
(N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 8. An Auckland racing writer and commentator. Mr S G Tonks, was appointed, handicapper to the Auckland Racing Club today. There were 12 applicants. Mr Tonks succeeds Mr L. P. McManemin, who retired at the end of last season after serving the club for four years. As a commentator Mr Tonks has been employed by the Auckland Racing Club for 13 years. He is also employed by most other clubs in Auckland and the Waikato.
