TEST OF MOTOR LAWNMOWERS

Consumer Council Study All makes of motor lawnmowers are being tested it present by the Consumer Services Council, and it is hoped to publish results of the test in the spring, according to a supplied report from Mr A. R. Mathiston, secretary of the Christchurch district consumer committee. The report says that at a meeting of the district committee this week it was decided to conduct a stand at the New Zealand Industries Fair. A colour film from America relating to the testing of consumer goods will be shown at the fair. The film runs for half an hour.

The report says that the consumer service continues to expand and membership is now more than 24,500. Consumer tests published in the quarterly magazine, “Consumer," are affecting consumer buying. “More and more stores report increased demand for goods recommended as ‘good buys’,” the report said
