NEW SYSTEM FOR ARMY RECRUITS

On August 8 the Army will begin monthly intakes of trainees for eight-week courses at Waiouru. Announcing this yesterday, the Direc or of Recruiting (Colonel R. N. Griggs) said that tn this way new soldiers would be taught about the service and understand its requirements.

He said the system would ensure that the recruits knew how to dress, were well turned out and of good bearing before they were posted to a unit It was part of the Army's policy for making new recruits feel comfortable and at home.
