OVERSEAS TOUR

Dairy Division Official (NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 3. The recently-appointed assistant director of the dairydivision of the Department of Agriculture. Mr N. E. Briggs, will leave New Zealand this month to study overseas farming developments Mr Briggs will be away five months, during which he will visit leading European dairying countries to study manufacturing and packing techniques. He will pay particular attention to factory air-conditioning, and building and plant lay-out. especially in Sweden, where there have been important advances in recent years. Visit to U.S. Before returning. Mr Briggs will confer with United States Government officials on quality standards and discuss with the principal buyers of New Zealand casein and other dairy products, technical aspects and quality requirements. Earlier this year, Mr Briggs accompanied, as technical adviser, a delegation from the New Zealand Dairy Products Marketing Coir mission, which made a business tour of the Far East.
