TWO SATELLITES SEEN
One Identified As Echo I Two space satellites moving! on different orbits high above 1 Christchurch were seen earlylast evening by sex-era! persons in the citv One was' the United States balloon satellite Echo I The other was thought to be either an American Discovery. Midas or Samos space satellite. Mr C. S. L, Keay, lecturer in physics at the University of Canterbury, said that several persons had telephoned him about the sightings. Because of cloud he saw neither A woman in Gebbie's Valley told “The Press" that she saw both satellites at 620 p.m. One travelled from west to east the other from north to south-east. The second moved two to three times faster than the first Mr said there was a possibility that both satellites would be seen today, although the undetermined satelli'e would not appear at the same tune. Echo I could be expected to move in the same and C 5» p^‘ Ween 535 Pm tn touch with him time and I direction would help in fore-' casting, he said. 1
