PURCHASE OF GROUND

Western Club’s Move The Western Association Football Club has bought its own ground. The purchase of a section in St. Albans was announced yesterday by the oresident of the club (Mr J. Smith). The section is of one acre 28 perehes. large enough for a gymnasium 80ft by 24ft and a full-sized playing field. Negotiations for the purchase of the property had been in progress since March and the purchase price was £l5OO. The club intends to instal floodlights in the field for outdoor training. Perhaps night football would also be played on this ground, said Mr Smith. Western has won the Hurley Shield for the local first division championship for the last nine seasons. It is strong in all open grades, and particularly strong in schoolboy grades.
