Car Bursts Hose

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 11. A motorist who defied traffic officers’ instructions burst a hose at the peak of last night's fire at Manama crescent, Wellington. Traffic and fire officers warned motorists against entering the area but one drove over a line feeding in from nearby Aro street. A fire officer said tonight that, had the fire been worse, the loss of this hose could have had serious consequences. It is understood that the offending motorist will be prosecuted.
