Imports By Britain (Special Crspdt N.Z P.A.) LONDON, June 9. Lord Waldegrave, joint Parliamentary secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, said in the House of Lords that the British Government intended to import 30 Charollais bull calves from France toward the end of the year “not as a piece of scientific research, but as a practical experiment to see whether the beefing qualities of the Charollais will make it worthwhile crossing with dairy cows.” He added that though the bulls would remain in Government ownership the cost of purchase, shipment and incidental expenses would Call on those farmers who wished to experiment with them through their own organisations.
