Resignation Notice (HZ. Press Association) NAPIER, June 8. The Archbishop of New Zealand (the Most Rev, N. A. Lesser) has received notice of the impending resignation of the Rt. Rev. Leonard S. Kenggthorne, Ute Bishop in Polynesia, Dr. Kemp-Shorne was consecrated Bishop in Polynesia in Lambeth Palace on March 4. 1923, by the Archbishop of Canterbury. "For 38 years Bishop Kempthorne hes served diligently and acceptably in the vast diocese under his charge, and his services have been recognised by the Queen’s bestowal on him of the C.B.E. and the Archbishop of Canterbury’s investing him with the Lambeth D D. degree,” said Archbishop Lesser. “Many humble tributes from ordinary worshippers in his diocese will prove equally significant to the retiring Bishop.’’

The Bishop in Polynesia's resignation will be effective from the day before the day appointed for the consecration or enthronement of bis successor in office.
