Two Attempts Abandoned tn Z.P.A -neuter— i Lopvnant) LONDON. June 7 Two unusual attempts to cross the English Channel had to be abandoned today because of choppy seas. Two college students, who set out from St. Margaret's Bay. near Dover, in an attempt to conquer the channel in a bath tub propelled by an outboard motor, had to give up after five hours because of the seas. The choppy seas also forced a 46-year-old Pole, Lex Wozniak, to give up his attempt to walk across the channel using 62ft waterskis and propelling himself with ski sticks. Wozniak gave up about two hours after leaving. Dover. I
