NO TRIP FOR WRESTLER
Absent When Team Leaves , <N2 Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 28. The New Zeeland amateur wrestling team was one short when it left Wellington today tor the world championships in Tokyo. Wellington's only representative, the heavyweight, Ted Green, was not on the plane. Wrestling administrators do not know of Green’s whereabouts but it is believed he may be in the Taranaki district.
A spokesman for the New Zealand Amateur Wrestling Union. Mr L. W. Woods, said this evening that Green had completed his passport and visa formalities by last Tuesday, but the union had not heard from him since. At that stage. Green had not had any vaccinations, and with the deadline for the vaccination being Tuesday. Green was not able to make the trip. Green was selected recently with seven other wrestlers to compete in the world championships. The Tawa Wrestling Club had raised a considerable amount to send him to Tokyo. Mr Woods said that the club had not heard from Green for some time.
Mr W. A. Chapman, the secretary of the Poneke Rugby Club, for which Green played senior football, said he believed Green was at present in Manaia, Taranaki.
