KILLING OF YOUTH

“Murdered By Eichmann”

(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) JERUSALEM. May 26. A 35-year-old Hungarianborn Jew told the Court trying Adolf Eichmann of the killing in Budapest of a Jewish youth—alleged by the prosecution to be the only murder committed by Adolf Eichmann with his own hands. The witness, Abraham Gordon, told the Court that a Jewish youth, Shalomon, working on forced labour with him at Eichmann’s Budapest villa, was beaten to death in a toolshed entered by Eichmann and an aide after the Germans had accused the youth of stealing cherries. When Eichmann came out of the hut he looked a “little dishevelled” and there were spots looking like blood on his shirt, the witness said. As he had passed other Jewish youths working in the villa's garden, he had said: “Dirty stinking people."

Gordon said “awful screams” by the youth came from the toolshed for 10 or 15 minutes. Later, the boy's body had been driven off. The aide returned afterwards and told the Jewish youth: “I threw the stinking corpse into the Danube and your fate will be the same as that of the boy.” Eichmann shifted in his seat as the witness gave his evidence.
