Petrol Escapes
About 140 gallons of petrol flowed over a wide area of Beach road. Parnell, yesterday morning. An underground storage tank overflowed when it was being filled from a tanker. Firemen and City Council employees quickly set up fire warning notices. The danger abated after about five hours when the petrol had drained away.—(P.A.)
Dr. W. E. Henley, of Auckland. has been appointed a member of the Medical Research Council for four years, on the nomination of the New Zealand committee of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
