Bankrupt Obtains Credit

(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER. May 26. Harry Ernest Scott, with more than 70 previous convictions, seemed determined to lead a life of crime, said Mr Justice McGregor in the Supreme Court, Napier, today. Scott was sentenced to a term ot preventive detention on a charge of stealing a £2O portable electric sewing machine, at Napier, on November 15. The Judge said Scott was also an undischarged bankrupt with debts of more than £lOOO. “How you obtained credit is beyond my comprehension.”
