Public Speaking. Frank Davies, of Rotorua Boys’ High School, gained first place in the public speaking contest for secondary school pupils and apprentices held in the Wellington Town Hall Concert Chamber on Wednesday evening. Russell Johnson., of Inglewood High School, and Jennifer Denham, of Auckland Girls’ Grammar School, were equal second. The subject was "Accident prevention a moral oblig-tion.”— (P.A.)
