(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter — Copyright) BRISBANE. May 18 Sharply, second favourite for the Brisbane Cup, broke the Doomben six furlongs track work record today. Working nine feet out on the No. 2 grass he clocked Imin 14s ec. He ran the last five in Imin 2sec, the last half-mile in 50 sec, last three in 36sec, and the last two in 26|sec. Sharply, second to Tulloch in cup favouritism, is expected to shorten after his brilliant trial. Alladins Lamp’s partowner, Mr N. Von Nida, today engaged N. Birrer for the cup. Von Nida was at Eagle Farm to see his horse work.
