IN THE NEWS ROOM at Bush House, London, the headquarters of the B.B.C. external services. The teleprinters bring news from all over the world into the central news room—from all the main news agencies, from B.B.C. correspondents at home and abroad, and from the B.B.C.’s own monitoring station which reports what foreign radio stations are saying. From these sources the external services news department prepares the bulletins which are broadcast to the world in English and 34 other languages.
