CONCESSIONS ON BUSES
Ambulance Men
Members of the St. John Ambulance Association travelling to the ice-skating rink at Cashmere will receive concession tickets from the Christchurch Transport Board. This decision was taken at a meeting of the board’s works and traffic committee yesterday after a report had been given by the general manager (Mr J. F. Fardell) on his recent discussions with officials of the association.
‘‘As a result of the newspaper reports from our last meeting, the manager of the rink rang me and was concerned that the public mj®) t get the impression that nis company was not prepared t > pay for the concession tickets.” said Mr Fardell. “In fact, the company is quite prepared to pay. The St. John Ambulance Association itself is also prepared to pay.”
A motion that the association be granted 15 concession tickets, at 7s 6d each a year, was carried.
