New Canteen At Linwood H.S.

"A new canteen is being erected along the east wing of the workshop block,” said the headmaster (Mr P. A. Hickling) in his report to the Linwood High School board of governors last evening. “The site of the old canteen was unsatisfactory because it was over a stormwater drain and the new one is placed where it will not interfere with the possible future erection of* prefabricated buildings.”

Boys’ Brigade N.C.O's.— An initial training course for junior n.c.o’s. of the Boys’ Brigade was held last weekend at the Leigh Camp. Loburn. Thirty-two boys, most of whom are in the 1516 age group, took part in activities designed to prepare them for responsibility in the movement. Concurrent with this camp was the South Island senior rnc.o's. training course being held at Timaru.
